In tonight's episode, Maintaining Mental Health in the Workplace, I'll be talking to Dr. Michael A. Lindsey, an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work, and holds a faculty appointment in the Center for School Mental Health, Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. His published research has appeared in the Journal of Adolescent Health, Prevention Science, Psychiatric Services, General Hospital Psychiatry, American Journal of Men's Health; the Journal of Black Psychology and in the journal Social Work. Dr. Lindsey holds a Ph.D. in social work and M.P.H. from the University of Pittsburgh; a M.S.W. from Howard University; and a B.A. in sociology from Morehouse College. He also completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in public health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University. We'll discuss the silent tsunami in the workplace, which is mental health, an issue that could engulf organizations in productivity and profitability problems as Siwell as legal liabilities unless mental health is addressed as seriously as are marketing, compensation and strategic plans.
